December 2005: Bhogapuram, India! Grace to you from the Lord
Jesus Christ! We are happy to bring this report to you from the land
of the abundant harvest: India! Bhogapuram is a small town of 20,000
people located within a district called Vijaya Nagar. It is
estimated that there are at least 400 unreached villages within this
district. Bhogapuram was the site of our recent ‘Good News Miracle
Festival’ and ‘Faith and Fire Leadership Conference’ with the goal
of reaping a large harvest and mobilizing the existing ministers to
plant churches in every unreached village. |
After four nights of Gospel proclamation, thousands of decision cards
were turned in by people responding to the salvation call. Each person is
given the Gospel of John in the Telegu language and the local leadership
will do the follow-up ministry.
The Gospel is the power of God to those who believe. As the Gospel
was proclaimed, the Lord was present to confirm His Word with accompanying
signs and wonders. We saw the deaf, the lame, the blind, and others
oppressed by the devil with various diseases healed. Here are a few.
On the second night Mark called an older man on stage who walked
slowly with the support of a stick. While on stage it was discovered that he
was deaf. When the man was interviewed, he could hardly hear at all. Hands
were laid on him in Jesus' Name and he was healed. He was walking back and
forth swiftly, and squatting. Then, the deaf spirit was cast out, and he
could hear! He had been partially paralyzed and in pain for a "long time"
and deaf since childhood. He was happy and smiling real big.
Hands were laid on a woman who had stomach pain for 4 years. While we
ministered to her, she burst into tears and began to confess her sins
without any encouragement from us. She also was expressing to the Lord how
she had been to several hospitals and doctors without any improvement. But
Jesus healed her right there and then.
One elderly lady was completely blind in her right eye for two years.
Jesus healed her as prayer was offered. She came up on the stage and in a
very shy manner demonstrated to the crowd that her eye was beginning to
open.
An older man, Nairena, was paralyzed and stuttered for 10 years.
Jesus healed him too! His wife, teenage son, and pastor came on stage and
verified his previous condition and healing. The healing took place in front
of the stage and then on the stage in front of the people.
A fisherman, named Lacksman, fell on his boat and injured his knee 2
years ago. He had been to doctors and tried different medications
without success. Jesus healed him. Previously, his knee made a crackling
noise. But the pain and the crackling noise were gone.
A lady had a fever and pain in her legs for 2 months. She couldn't
sit and stand up or walk properly. Jesus healed her.
On the last night, Mark called a man on stage believing God was doing
something in him. (Actually he thought he had already received his healing.
But he had not yet received.) The man was partially paralyzed in both legs.
He couldn't pick them up. It was a struggle for him to move. Hands were laid
on him in the most powerful Name of the Son of God! And his stiff legs
loosened right up. He began to walk briskly back and forth. And he was
squatting up and down with Mark’s support.
One lady was oppressed with swelling in her hands for twenty years.
She was in pain and found it difficult to use her hands to grip anything.
But Jesus healed her. All the swelling and pain completely disappeared! |
Faith and Fire Leadership Conference
In the Faith and Fire Leadership Conference (featured below), the
pastors and evangelists responded more than we expected to the
challenge of planting churches in unreached villages. They committed
to plant 610 churches in their lifetime. No doubt, we know that some
of these pastors were already involved in such work. But we know
this conference fueled the fire for such a task.
This is the best church planting response we have received so far.
We believe that each of the more than 400 unreached villages will
have a permanent gospel witness in the near future!
